Growing up, I lived for designer clothes and labels. I subscribed to several popular fashion magazines and when Madonna’s popular song “Vogue” hit the charts, I immediately struck a pose.

I fondly remember going on wardrobe-shopping trips to Dallas with my mom, attending Chanel and Escada fashion shows while in college and even having made-to-measure clothing starting in high school.

My style growing up, and to this day, is very similar. I love a good novelty print, and I put my money towards timeless pieces, which allows me to wear my stuff for years. Yes, I have many articles of clothing in my wardrobe that I’ve been wearing for more than 10 years. I know, blasphemy, but I tend to lean more towards the frugal side of shopping. If I’m going to spend the money on high quality, long lasting threads, I want to stretch that dollar far.

Most days you’ll find me sporting athleisure-wear in and around town. I like to refer to this as “carpool fashion”. Although I’m mostly a casual gal, I always enjoy special occasions when I get all dolled and put on the dog.
