Welcome to The BEST List of Christmas Lights and Activities in DFW for 2021. I’ve spent hours curating, updating, and adding to this collection, and I’m proud to bring this post to you for the NINTH year in a row.
This past year has people itching to get out and really celebrate the holidays! New activities pop up every day, so check back for updated information as it becomes available. Stay tuned for giveaways added weekly as well!

Don your tackiest, most festive holiday sweater and join for a bike ride full of lights, flights, bubbly and joy.
Tour de Foundry: Holiday Lights + Flights will begin with a champagne toast at Thirty Eight & Vine. Spread holiday cheer by toasting loud for all to hear! Hop on your sleigh (e-bike) and fly to Melt Ice Cream in Sundance Square for a flight of one-of-a-kind seasonal ice cream flavors. Ride through downtown while singing your favorite carols and snap an elfie at the Sundance Square tree.
As the sun sets, we’ll take the scenic route back to Foundry, riding past some of the best holiday lights in the city before jingling all the way to Blackland Distillery.

Cookies & Castles Fort Worth is now returning for our 21st Annual Gingerbread Decorating Extravaganza as a To-Go Event! The 2021 Gingerbread Decorating Extravaganza will be a drive-thru experience December 2 and 3 so that you can take the festivities home to enjoy safely with your friends and family. The gingerbread decorating kit will include your choice of a gingerbread house or man, icing, and plenty of holiday candy to make your house come to life! Each package will also include a tote bag and apron, and patrons will receive extra special goodies.

12th Annual Funky Finds Holiday Shopping Experience: Will Rogers Memorial Center 76107 FREE
Enjoy at the 12th Annual Funky Finds Holiday Shopping Experience featuring 150+ makers & pickers selling unique handmade, repurposed, upcycled and vintage finds. This FREE indoor family and pet-friendly market will also feature swag bags, charitable raffle, fundraising benefiting Saving Hope Animal Rescue, and DFW Toys for Tots.

Fairmount Festivus: 1100 Hemphill St 76110
We’re so excited to continue the AWARD WINNING Festivus tradition and spread some holiday cheer. Kick off your holiday celebrations with a tour of Fairmount’s most exciting holiday displays! The participating house locations will be provided via a map so that everyone can experience the magic of Festivus safely from their own cars, bikes, or other preferred method of transportation.
In exchange for the map, they are asking for a small donation. The donation can be monetary, $10 recommended, or a toy donation for One Safe Place.

Holiday in the Garden: Botanic Gardens 76107 FREE
Celebrate the season at this annual event by shopping the wares of artisan vendors, enjoying tasty treats from gourmet food trucks, relaxing to live music from local bands and singing along to holiday carols with the Fort Worth Opera. There will also be a visit from Santa himself!

Gift of Lights: Texas Motor Speedway, 76177
TMS Gift of Lights is the LARGEST drive-thru park in TEXAS. Santa’s Village is bigger and better this year at 22,000 square feet! Be sure to visit the village to ride the miniature train and have photos with Santa.

GM Financial Parade of Lights: Downtown Fort Worth 76102 FREE
It’s an evening filled with exciting things to do throughout Downtown, from taking care of your holiday shopping to dining out in some of the finest restaurants in Fort Worth, all while enjoying the holiday spirit of the country’s top holiday parade.
This great Downtown tradition roars back to life in a reimagined way for our 39th year!

Christmas Boat Parade of Lights: Eagle Mountain Marina 76135
The Eagle Mountain Lake Parade of Lights has been a holiday tradition for over 35 years! This is a fun family and community event to celebrate the holidays and to celebrate Eagle Mountain Lake. This years’ parade includes a benefit for Toys-for-Tots! There will be donation boxes at each of the marinas and restaurants around the lake, and at Twin Points Park. Boaters and observers are encouraged to donate new unwrapped toys to help others celebrate the Christmas season.

Please join the City of Aledo as we celebrate the 21st Annual “CHRISTMAS TYME IN ALEDO”
This day-long festival is an Aledo tradition! It launches the holiday season and continues to be a free attraction for the community! There are many attractions scheduled all over the downtown Aledo area with holiday fun, food, and entertainment for all ages; and, many of the local storefront businesses stay open late, providing activities and refreshments for visitors! We also heard Santa will be stopping by again this year!

Bring your friends and family to the Downtown/University District to enjoy the Annual Holiday Lights Parade. Thousands of people will gather for the pageantry which is followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree.
Don’t forget to bring your camera and take a picture with Santa before the parade at the Library at 100 S Center Street or after the tree lighting at the Levitt at 100 W Abram Street.

It’s a German Christmas at the Texas Christkindl Market. You’ll discover holiday cheer, decorations, recipes, and one-of-a-kind finds and gifts from your favorite vendors through our vendor listings. You’ll see how to create German holiday treats with authentic recipes and video demonstrations. Live performances from local choirs and dancers will be broadcast through our social media channels, and children (and adults alike) will get surprise messages from St. Nick throughout the duration of the Market.

This is the place you go to dive head first into all things Christmas! Decorator’s Warehouse, Texas’ #1 Christmas Store, is the largest Christmas store in Texas, and one of the largest in the world. Dalworthington Gardens: Rushing Meadow Court & Harder Drive 76016
For more than 30 years David Kulesz has decorated his house with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, sparking his neighbors to follow suit. Don’t miss this amazing display that encompasses 2 cul-de-sacs and 14 houses. Mr. Kulesz’s light display is in honor of victims suffering from Alzheimer’s. A sign in his yard gives the address to make donations to the North Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Lights at Interlochen: Westwood Drive & Randol Mill Road 76012
More than 200 homes make this one of DFW’s largest holiday light displays and one of the very first and original of its kind, enchanting visitors with their extravagant Christmas lights, decorations, and displays. Voted “Texas Best” Christmas lights by viewers of Texas Country Reportertelevision show.

Visible from state highway 121 with more than 1 million lights, a full, life-sized 20-piece nativity scene serves as a visual reminder of the true meaning and reason for celebrating Christmas.This year, they have doubled their holiday display, in addition to adding an area solely dedicated to entertaining children by bringing in their favorite holiday characters. This kid-friendly attraction includes an interactive 8-foot “JOY” sign, toy soldiers, a candy cane archway, Santa’s workshop, a gingerbread house, Olaf, Thomas the Train, and more! Daystar’s Scratch Cafe will be open every Friday and Saturday of December for holiday treats.

Glenbrook Christmas Lights: Cummings Drive @ Brookside Court 76021 FREE
For over 29 years, the Glenbrook subdivision has told the story of “‘Twas the night before Christmas, in Texas That is” using colorful storyboards and decorations. The streets are lined with beautiful red lights and the houses are brightly decorated with colorful lights and displays. Start a new family tradition by visiting this neighborhood every holiday season.

Christmas at the Perry: A.W. Perry Museum 75006 FREE
Santa called and asked for help and the A.W. Perry Homestead is up to the task. Get ready to take a stroll through the park and see how we are helping Santa get ready for Christmas. Gravley Park will be decorated with lights and photo opportunities. The Perry house will be decorated in traditional Victorian fashion, but some elves from the North Pole have turned a few rooms in to workshop areas. The Homestead will be open after hours so guest can self-tour the Perry home and see the decorations and the elves at work. Celebration of Lights: SMU Campus at Dallas Hall Lawn 75205 FREE
The entire SMU and surrounding communities gather for this joyous occasion to watch the famous Dallas Hall light up with thousands of lights in all its wonder. Our program begins with hot cocoa and cider accompanied by warm cookies to comfort everyone amidst the cold December of Dallas. People proceed to gather on Dallas Hall Lawn and listen to carols performed by SMU students. SMU’s President, R. Gerald Turner, reads the Christmas Story from his own family Bible! Upon the conclusion of the Christmas Story, Silent Night ends the program with the lighting of SMU’s stunning Dallas Hall and its surrounding trees.

Holiday at the Arboretum, presented by Reliant, is Dallas’ favorite holiday tradition! In the evenings, the garden comes to life for a beautiful nighttime experience aglow with over one million lights. The Trains at NorthPark: NorthPark 2nd level next to Nordstrom’s 75225
Since 1987, the Trains have raised more than $13 million for RMHD allowing us to serve more than 39,000 families. This holiday family tradition has become a favorite for generations of Dallasites and includes 1600 feet of track rolling from coast to coast on a whimsical rail journey across America. The Trains travel from the autumn foliage of New England to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge with stops in New York City, Washington DC, Dallas, and the Grand Canyon.

Highland Park Neighborhood: Armstrong Parkway & Preston Road 75205 FREE
Bring the family out to tour this mansion filled neighborhood! Start at Armstrong Parkway and Preston Road and wind your way through the streets to view the beautifully decorated homes. Check out the five colorfully lit trees in the street island at Colorado and Lausanne with the beautiful Dallas skyline in the background. You won’t be disappointed! This is also a lovely neighborhood to drive around and see all the lights.

Reliant Lights Your Holidays: Winspear Opera House 75201 FREE
Reliant lights up the holiday season at the AT&T Performing Arts Center! Bring your entire family for an evening of holiday magic and music. We’ll be illuminating the Center’s campus with dazzling LED lights to celebrate the arrival of the holiday season. This FREE festival includes a holiday concert featuring Vinyl Countdown: A Tribute to Arena Rock, Selena tribute band Bidi Bidi Banda, incredible projections on our venues, crafts for the kids, and, of course, SANTA, thanks to our entertainment sponsor The David M. Crowley Foundation! We are proud to welcome back Univision 23’s Raul Solis and Johana Suarez as our hosts for the evening!

Bring the family for one of Denton’s most beloved holiday traditions! There will be plenty of live local music, food, family fun and joyful holiday spirit for this one-of-a-kind community event! The event is free with some food and activities available for purchase, all we ask is that you bring a toy for our toy drive benefitting Elves Shelves.

Christmas in the Branch: Liberty Plaza 75234 FREE
Welcome in the yuletide with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting debuting our new 50 foot Christmas Tree. There will be outdoor ice skating, fun activities for children, and the lighting of the Christmas Tree with Santa Claus himself. Enjoy our kid’s zone in Liberty plaza filled with carnival rides, face painters, balloon artists and strolling characters. Make sure to shop the market place for gifts for those special in your life. We will end the night with a low level fireworks show. Visit Santa from 5-9 p.m. Grab something to eat while enjoying all the festivities. Shop local vendors for unique handmade/homemade gifts at our Holiday Marketplace at the Grove.

Join the Town in celebrating its 32nd annual Christmas Parade! This year’s theme will be “The North Pole”. The nighttime parade will have lighted floats parading down Spinks Road to Gerault Park. At Gerault Park, there will be a tree lighting ceremony with choir performances, pictures with Santa Claus, kids’ activities, local vendors, food trucks, and much more! Christmas in the Square: Frisco Square 75034 FREE
Christmas in the Square is the largest choreographed lights and music display in North Texas!
The nightly show begins at 6 p.m. and features more than 175,000 lights, 11.5 miles of wiring and over 8 miles of extension cords. Visitors may tune in to 107.3 FM on the radio in their vehicles, or listen to the music piped through speakers as they take a walk through the Square.
This year’s Christmas in the Square event will also feature Skate the Square, an outdoor ice skating rink, as well as a Christmas tree lot. The light and music show is free to experience. Some activities do require a fee.

This holiday season, the Dallas Cowboys will host the fifth annual Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza powered by Reliant at The Star in Frisco. Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza powered by Reliant is a must-see 20-minute show that electrifies The Star with a powerful mix of game day excitement and Christmas cheer on Tostitos Championship Plaza. Kicking off with the lighting of The Star’s 67-foot Christmas tree by a Dallas Cowboys alumni, Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza then leads into a holiday performance showcasing the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and Drumline, Cowboys Rookie Squad, mascot Rowdy, Santa Claus, and special appearances from Dallas Cowboys Football heroes.

Lights on the Farm: The Heritage Farmstead Museum FREE
For one month this holiday season, Heritage Farmstead Museum in Plano will be bedazzled with more than one million twinkling holiday lights and filled with animated yuletide displays as part of the venue’s first-ever Lights on the Farm holiday event.
The all-outdoor event will feature a quarter-mile trail through the property showcasing stunning holiday light creations and animated displays crafted by First Choice Lights. Guests will also enjoy a 20-foot Christmas tree, refreshments such as hot cocoa and make-your-own s’mores, and a chance for the youngest guests to visit with Santa. There will also be plenty of dazzling selfie photo opportunities throughout the farm property, as well.
